What is Ledger Live?
Ledger Live is the official desktop and mobile application for managing your Ledger hardware wallet and cryptocurrencies.
Use Ledger Live to install apps on your device, view portfolio balances, send and receive funds, and access Ledger’s supported services — all while your private keys remain safely stored on the device.
Supported platforms
Ledger Live is available for:
- Windows (64-bit)
- macOS (Intel & Apple Silicon)
- Linux (AppImage or package)
- Android (Google Play)
- iOS (App Store)
Always download Ledger Live from the official Ledger site or the relevant app store to ensure you receive the authentic, up-to-date version.
Quick install steps (Desktop)
- Open your browser and go to
https://ledger.com/start
to get the official download.
- Choose the Ledger Live installer for your operating system and download the file.
- Run the installer and follow on-screen instructions. On macOS you may need to allow the app in System Preferences → Security & Privacy.
- After installation launch Ledger Live, accept the terms, and choose Get Started.
- Connect your Ledger device (Nano X / Nano S Plus / Nano S) via USB (or Bluetooth for Nano X), then follow the guided setup: install firmware if prompted, set a PIN, and write down your recovery phrase.
- Use the Manager in Ledger Live to install crypto apps for the coins you want to manage.
Tip: If prompted to install Ledger Bridge or enable browser permissions, follow the official instructions from the Ledger site — avoid third-party downloads.
Quick install steps (Mobile)
- Download Ledger Live from the App Store (iOS) or Google Play (Android).
- Open the app and follow the in-app onboarding.
- Pair your Ledger device using Bluetooth (Nano X) or connect via USB-OTG (if supported).
- Complete device initialization — set a PIN and record your recovery phrase offline.
System requirements & troubleshooting
Make sure your operating system is supported and up to date. If Ledger Live does not detect your device:
- Try a different USB cable or port.
- Restart Ledger Live and reconnect the device.
- On desktop, ensure any required helper apps (e.g., Bridge) or drivers are installed from the official site.
- Temporarily disable overly strict antivirus or USB-blocking software while installing (re-enable afterward).
Security reminders
Your recovery phrase is the only backup of your wallet. Never share it, never type it into websites or apps, and never store it digitally. Ledger will never ask for your recovery phrase via email, chat, or phone. Always verify you are on the official ledger.com
domain before downloading or entering sensitive information.
