What is Ledger Live?

Ledger Live is the official desktop and mobile application for managing your Ledger hardware wallet and cryptocurrencies. Use Ledger Live to install apps on your device, view portfolio balances, send and receive funds, and access Ledger’s supported services — all while your private keys remain safely stored on the device.

Quick install steps (Desktop)

  1. Open your browser and go to https://ledger.com/start to get the official download.
  2. Choose the Ledger Live installer for your operating system and download the file.
  3. Run the installer and follow on-screen instructions. On macOS you may need to allow the app in System Preferences → Security & Privacy.
  4. After installation launch Ledger Live, accept the terms, and choose Get Started.
  5. Connect your Ledger device (Nano X / Nano S Plus / Nano S) via USB (or Bluetooth for Nano X), then follow the guided setup: install firmware if prompted, set a PIN, and write down your recovery phrase.
  6. Use the Manager in Ledger Live to install crypto apps for the coins you want to manage.

Tip: If prompted to install Ledger Bridge or enable browser permissions, follow the official instructions from the Ledger site — avoid third-party downloads.
